RAKU HAPPENING
For advanced Potter-Artists
By Frank Colson
A raku HAPPENING is an “Event”, not a
workshop! A workshop normally takes
at
least two days. (The first day to create the
form, dry, and bisque fire it,: the second
day, to do the final glaze firing.)
A RAKU HAPPENING
requires an
experienced raku clay artist who is
comfortable with people: a person who has
not only teaching experience, but also
finely honed organizational skills. This
person must also have sufficient clay
working skills to produce a number of raku
bowls. With proper preparation, they will be
rewarded by earning several hundred dollars
in a single day.
